Asics Gel Evolution 5 Running Shoes. This shoe is a 2E fitting, which means the width is slightly wider than normal. These shoes provide high levels of support for runners requiring additional protection against severe overpronation. This is the fifth version of this motion control shoe. This is the Autumn / Winter 2009 Model. I.G.S – I.G.S.- (Impact Guidance System): Meeting the demands of all athletic activities, the I.G.S.� (Impact Guidance System is a technical design philosophy that allows the foot to perform in a more natural manner. Biomorphic Fit – uses high-tech stretch materials to allow the shoe upper to move with the foot. This mean the foot encounters less friction and fabric bunching during specific moments of the gait cycle. DuraSponge – A blown AHAR rubber compound for enhanced cushioning and durability in the forefoot. Duomax – A proprietary ASICS system consisting of two or more different density midsole materials, designed to help correct the degree and velocity of pronation. Space Trusstic – An advanced system that creates a pocket between the Trusstic System device and the midsole, allowing for greater midsole deformation and more efficient foot function. Forefoot ASICS GEL cushioning system – The silicone-based, GEL cushioning system in the forefoot reduces the loading forces that would normally be applied as the foot moves into propulsion. This reuduces shear forces and along with flex grooves, enchances propulsion. Rearfoot Asics Gel Cushioning System – When running around the tennis court the foot can typically experience forces of 3 to 5 times the player�s body weight during heel strike. The GEL cushioning system, in conjunction with the midsole material, absorbs these impact forces. Solyte Midsole – This is a proprietary cushioning material that provides an exceptionally lightweight midsole. Solyte an advanced copolymer is significant lighter than SpEVA or standard EVA with excellent cushioning, bounce back and durability properties. PHF – Personal Heel Fit, is made of a high density foam which moulds perfectly around the shape of the hell and Achilles tendon. This supports reduces slippage and provides comfort and fit. The foam reboudns to its original shape when not in use. AHAR+ – ASICS High Abrasion Resistance rubber is a tough compound used at the heavy contact areas of the outsole. it helps to reduce excessive wear. AHAR+ is a lighter version of the general AHAR. ComforDry Sockliner – This insole provides the optimum cushioning performance that creates a cooler drier healthier shoe environment. Flex Grooves – These are located in the forefoot and / or rearfoot for increased Flexibility and cushioning. Asymmetrical Heel – A slightly angled and a-symmetric heel that offers smoother transition from impact to take-off. It also reduces the risk of overpronation. Solyte 65 lasted – Enhancing the cushioning and support by utilizing Solyte in the construction of the shoe between the midsole and the upper. Adjusted in density specific to the level of support required from the running shoe. A new shoe for the overpronators who are still serious about their running.
